Tsum Valley Trekking

Tsum valley trekking is probably the most recently discovered unspoiled trekking region in Nepal. Tsum vealley situated in the northern end of Gorkha district surrounded by spectacular mountains like; Himalchuli and Buddha Himal to the west, Ganesh to the south and Sringi Himal to the north. This pristine valley is a land of historical Buddhist cultural practice and full of Buddhist Gompas, Chortens and Mani walls. Tsum derived from the Tibetan word “Tsombo” which means Vivid. Chumchet and Chhekampar are one of most remote Himalayan village in the district are merges to become the Tsum valley. Being so rich on natural scenery and cultural integrity; Tsum valley is yet to garner benefits from immense tourism possibility.

Trekking in Tsum valley is one of the extraordinary experiences in human life. Our journey commence from Arughat of Gorkha district which is accessible to the road and heads up the Budi Gandaki valley through the exciting and unexplored villages mostly inhabited by ethnic Gurung, Tamang, Ghale and Tibetan Buddhist. The valley is extremely rich in culture and peoples are very friendly and hospitable. You will receive with smile in the harmoniums traditional way upon your arrival. The most special character of the cultural valley is “the villager never slaughters the animals”. Don’t you like to explore such a pristine soil once in a lifetime? Itinerary in Detail

 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, receive and transfer to Hotel, short briefing about trip, O/N hotel

Day 02: Leisure and trek preparation day in Kathmandu, O/N hotel

Day 03: From Kathmandu drive to Arughat Bazaar by bus (7-8 hrs) and trek to Arkhet Bazar (2 hrs)

Day 04: Arkhet Bazar to Machha Khola (6 hrs)

Day 05: Machha Khola to Yaru khola (6 hrs)

Day 06: Yaru khola to Lokpa (6-7 hrs)

Day 07: Lokpa to Chumling (Lower Tsum) (4-5 hrs)

Day 08: Chumling to Chhokangparo (Upper Tsum) (7 hrs)

Day 09: Chhokangparo to Nile/Chhule, visit Milarepa Piren Phu Cave on the way (4-5 hrs)

Day 10: Nile/Chhule to Mu Gompa (3700 m), visit Dhephyudonma Gompa (4060 m) (4-5 hrs)

Day 11: Mu Gompa to Rachen Gompa, visit Gonhgye Gompa (Nyigma-pa Buddhist sect) (5 hrs)

Day 12: Rachen Gompa to Dumje (6-7 hrs)

Day 13: Dumje to Philim (cross Ripchet) (7-8 hrs)

Day 14: Philim to Tatopani (7-8 hrs)

Day 15: Tatopani to Lapubeshi (6-7 hrs)

Day 16: Lapubeshi to Arughat Bazar (5-6 hrs)

Day 17: Drive to Kathmandu by bus (6-7 hrs)

Day 18: Transfer to airport for final departure, fly home.

  • Personal expenses and tip to the crew (optional/ expected)
  • Any other expenses not mention as included in the price
