Tibet Overland Tour.

This is one of the most exciting and popular Trans Himalayan trip operates from Nepal. This trip is more suitable for those enthusiastic travelers who don’t have many days in their hand still want to explore magnificence of Tibet. This trip takes you to Lhasa from Kathmandu through Kodari on 4 wheel drive. On the way to Lhasa we visit many land mark sites of Tibet like Monasteries, Lakes and high passes.
We will make two day guided sightseeing tour in Lhasa which covers all historical sights and monuments including the great Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery, Norbulinkha Palace and Barkhor Bazaar ect.

This trip can be operating from April to end of October. You can finalize your traveling date as per your convenience and contact us for the trip arrangement.  

 

Itinerary in Detail

 

Day 01:

KATHMANDU- NYALAM (3750m)
Drive from Kathmandu to the Tibetan border at Kodari (Zhangmu), contimue up the steep swithch back road to Nyalam.

Day 02:

NYALAM- LHATSE (3950m)
A remarkable day’s drive across the Tibetan plateau with Spectacular Mountain views from Lalung-La pass (5050m), Passing through the town of Tingri there is more enchanting views of Mt. Everest and Cho-oyu.

Day 03:

LHATSE- SAKYA- SHIGATSE (3900m)
En route visit Shakya Monastery before crossing the Lalung-La (4500m) and continuing across the plains to Shigatse.

Day 04:

SHIGATSE- SHALU-GYANTSE (3950m)
This day trip starts after visiting the Tashilimpu Monastery; it’s a short drive to Gyantse with its amazing sights- Khumbum, Palkor Chode Monsatery and Gyantse Dzong.

Day 05:

GYANTSE- YAMDRUK LAKE- LHASA (3650m)
Main highlights of this day are the beautiful Turquoise Lake, Yamdruk- Tso, after crossing the Kamba- La and the Yarlung (Brahmaputra) River, the journey ends in Lhasa.

Day 06:

LHASA TOUR
Guided sightseeing tour of Lhasa – Sera Monastery, Jokhang temple and Barkhor Bazaar.

Day 07:

LHASA TOUR
Guided sightseeing tour of Lhasa- Drepung Monastery, Potala Palace and more.

Day 08:

LHASA- KATHMANDU (1300m)
Transfer to Gonggar airport and fly back to Kathmandu.

You are requested to submit us the following passport information at least 20 days before trip departure for visa procedure. At least 2 days before tour commencement, original passports must reach to our office in Kathmandu.

TEMPERATURE & CLOTHING
Tibet will have it's average temperature between 5-20 degree Celsius in the month of April through October. During trekking season, the night temperature in the mountain often falls below freezing. Therefore, you are required to have adequate warm clothes to save from extreme cold. Further, it will be better to dress in layers that can be easily put on & off as required. It is often advisable to carry raincoat because snow or rain can also occur sometimes.

CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES RECOMMENDED:-
Thermal underwear, woolen or silk long sleeve tops & bottoms
Woolen shirts, pullover, pants, socks, hat, gloves & scarves
Down jacket or wind breaker
Good walking boots or shoes
Sun hat, sun glass, suntan lotion, torch light, pen knife
Medicine for common colds, headache, diarrhea & diamox against altitude sickness.

HEALTH
It is necessary to be physically fit & healthy for the participate on Tibet tour. Though, there is no particular age limit guideline, child below 8 years or elderly people exceeding 70 years or more are not advisable to take participation. Doctor's medical certificate is essential for trip participation. Further more, those who are sufferer of high blood pressure, heart problem or diabetic are not recommending for tour.

INSURANCE
It is most advisable all clients to have full insurance against medical and person accident risk, natural calamities, political instability, etc.
