Honey Hunting Tour Nepal

In the Himalayan foothill of central Nepal, a group of man and women gather around cliff which is the home to largest species of wild bee. Harvesting the best cliff honey is a tradition of generations for the people of this part. The process of harvesting is slightly different from one to other community, some pray on the name of good with flower, fruits and rice, before lit a fire on the comb to make bee out of their hive. From the upper side of the cliff, a honey hunter descends with the support of a ladder by ropes. Other mates of the group hold the rope and ladder from the top and ferry tools up down as it required. The honey hunter fights with territorial bees as he cut and makes the honey from the big hive. This is the best opportunity to view and experience the traditional method of wild honey harvesting.
