Nagarkot Hiking (2 days)

Nagarkot is a most popular hill station just 36 km. east of Kathmandu valley. Situated at an elevation of 2175 m. in the eastern hill Nagarkot offers great views of Himalayan panorama and Sunset / Sunrise. There are several routes to reach Nagarkot, among them driving is the most accessible way. In this trip we are choosing the different route hiking by foot.

Nagarkot hiking is a bit different taste in excursion to this famous hill station. Our 2 day hiking trip will start after an hour drive to Sankhu. Sankhu itself is a very old Newari township in the eastern corner and rich with culture and tradition. After a short tour of Sankhu; we head towards Nagarkot through the beautiful villages and stepped forested way. It is really wonderful to meeting school going children, Cow herder, grass collector, wood collector and pedestrian busy on their own pace. With wonderful memory of such many events we reach Nagarkot in about 4 hours. A panoramic view of Himalayan skyline and Sunset / Sunrise is waiting to welcome you.

Next day begin with superb Sunrise, take breakfast and commence hiking towards Changunarayan Temple. It takes around 2 and half hour of wonderful walking along the ridge overlooking the view of Kathmandu valley and Himalayan vistas to reach Changunarayan (the oldest Temple in Kathmandu & also a world heritage site). After lunch catch our transfer vehicle and drive back to Kathmandu.
